Marriage Matters
Welcome to “Marriage Matters,” the new blog for Hidden Heart Ministry.
So, does the world need another blog about marriage? I answered this question by first taking a macro-view of the big world around me. Does it seem that marriage as an institution, created by God, is getting stronger and lasting longer? Sadly, no. Then I considered my micro-world, my marriage and those of my sphere of influence. Have my friends and I learned and lived out everything God planned for marriage as described in the Bible? No, again. So, what should we do about it?

But first, dear reader, you might like to know a bit about who is writing to you. My name is Mary Suzanne Crockett (and yes, you have to say Mary and Suzanne together and no, I’m not from the South), and I am 49 years into a life distinguished by an amazing gift – for the past twenty years, week in, week out, I have sat at a kitchen table learning, wrestling, crying, and growing with a small group of older women who have a contagious love for Jesus and the Bible. In future entries you will hear from these amazing friends who have taken their job description of Titus 2:3-5 to heart:
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
In that one little paragraph there is plenty for us to learn, wrestle with, cry over, and grow on! And that is what we will be doing in this blog for weeks, months and who knows, perhaps twenty years to come! You are invited to pull up a chair to our virtual kitchen table, and join us as we search God’s Word in our quest to become wives after God’s own heart.
